Laughter of the Gods

The thing that's occupying my mind now is a conversation with an older friend who is severely ill in a hospital. We agreed that it would be ideal if what is really going is that when one dies, one is able to join into the larger consciousness of all that is, without losing awareness of the individuality of each being - including one's own. This ties into a visionary experience I once had of "the laughter of the gods", which occurred briefly one night in my mid-twenties, when I should have been sleeping. No drugs involved, just a euphoric experience of suddenly feeling the profound harmony and rightness of everything, just as it is. I wasn't afraid to die for several years after that.
